Customised BlackBerry Smartphones for China

Research In Motion Ltd (RIM) to hunt the world’s largest mobile-phone market with a customized version of BlackBerry for China. The distribution is through the largest IT services provider in China, Digital China Holdings Limited, along with the partner Lenova Group Ltd. RIM and Digital China publicized a distribution agreement for BlackBerry smartphones in the country.

The BlackBerry handset targeted to the personal users and small businesses in China. Though, BlackBerry is not a new term for China market, the limited availability offered by China Mobile may be helpful for RIM to make a new wave in the market with the collaboration of Digital china.

Commenting on the partnership, Guo Wei, Chairman and CEO, Digital China, said, “As the leading IT service provider and distributor in China, Digital China has always believed in advanced and cutting-edge products that deliver value to Chinese customers. Through this collaboration, RIM will leverage Digital China’s proven professional services and nationwide coverage to reach more customers and to increase the visibility of the BlackBerry solution across the country.”

Very soon, just after publishing the partnership deal and introduction of BlackBerry smartphones by RIM in China, there was an increase in RIMs’ shares. The reviewers hope as it happens in Indonesian market, RIM will expand the opportunity for its market presence in China. For that, RIM is to accelerate the BlackBerry brand name as a key factor of its success in China.

China Mobiles’ chairman, Wang Jianzhiu informed that it will introduce a technology, very soon, either BlackBerry devices supporting China’s TD-SCDMA, or the time division synchronous code division multiple access. The BlackBerry handset uses a Chinese-developed wireless-technology.

Nokia N900 is more than a phone; Its desktop

N900, the latest mobile computer from the house of Nokia was launched recently. According to sources the company has also started the shipping of the phone. It will be available in retail stores in November at MRP EUR 500, sales taxes and subsidies not included. The Nokia N900 computer phone runs on open source Maemo 5 software.
