Nokia Touch Screen
Known to be the best smartphone in the mobile market, Nokia N97 is in fact the best fully featured and most powerful phone of Nokia. The main USP of Nokia N97 is its large touch-display. Before writing this review I have used Nokia N97 for few weeks and have continuously browsed the web on it, read news, checked many websites and even accessed Facebook application. Here are the details of my experience with Nokia N97.

Nokia N97 Basics
If we talk about the sound quality then I may define it as ‘it is awesome.’ Nokia N97 in fact has powerful sound quality.

The dialing of numbers is easy, but when I dialed from the contact list then it was a bit complex. I had to either scroll and click or else type a name and then click to browse the contacts.

Well, one thing is good that the virtual numeric pad of N97 easily replaces the physical keyboard in other applications apart from dialing by typing contacts. While dialing the handset asks every time whether you want to place a video call. I hardly find people using video calls and there was no option to skip this question.

Nokia N97 Features and Specifications

3.5” touch display

32GB internal storage and 16GB optional storage through flash card

5MP Carl Zeiss Lens

GPS

WiFi

Bluetooth

3.5G

FM Radio

Nokia N97 Touch Phone Aspect
Touch display of Nokia N97 is truly user-friendly. Nokia has used double-tap system to avoid any accidental clicks. First tap is for selection and second one is for launching the application. The ‘Unlock,’ the ‘Menu’ and other few features are only possible through hardware buttons.

Nokia N97 Responsiveness
Nokia N97 becomes slow when too many applications are opened. The bad part of this is that there in no ‘close all apps’ icon on homepage.

Nokia N97 Homepage Widget
After using Nokia N97 for more than a week, I can say that it has the best homepage widgets implementation. It is not messy as I have seen in Samsung Omnia. Facebook is also there on the homepage.

Nokia N97 Text/Email, Mapping and Web Browsing
Email options are good and many in Nokia N97 but it does not use the cache feature. Well, Nokia maps are cache on the handset so that one does not require to download each time. This cuts down the roaming expenses.

Nokia N97 is also a good browser. Yahoo Finance, Google Docs, Adobe Flash Lite and YouTube are good on it.
