The Finnish Giant Nokia, after almost spending a year or so in shadows has come to the limelight.

Report suggests within this period Nokia has invested in the development of GSM, UMTS/3G WCDMA and WLAN order of 40 billion euros. Not only this, Nokia might have just started the price war again cutting prices of its phones upto 10% according to the latest reports.

Nokia generally reduces prices across its range a few times a year as it introduces new models and adjusts to changes in demand, but this was particularly stringent. The company said that the slashes in prices are part of its normal business and that they usually do it a couple times per year.

“This latest round of price adjustments sees Nokia taking its low-cost Symbian devices into new territory,” said Ben Wood, CCS Insight Research Director, in an interview.

N900, the latest mobile computer from the house of Nokia was launched recently. According to sources the company has also started the shipping of the phone. It will be available in retail stores in November at MRP EUR 500, sales taxes and subsidies not included. The Nokia N900 computer phone runs on open source Maemo 5 software.

Initially Nokia N900 phone will be available in the retail markets of Europe, Middle-East, Russia and North America. One can even order the handset online from the website of Nokia Store.

He adds that the exciting feature of this mobile is its Maemo software that takes its cues from the desktop computer. Jose also mentions that N900 mobile phone offers to the users full browsing experience and this feature is available for the first time in any mobile handset.

Nokia N900 computer phone runs on ARM Cortex-A8 processor and it has up to 1GB of total application memory. With this handset mobile users can now be able to browse the internet as they browse on their computer or laptop.

One will get the panoramic desktops in the Nokia N900 handset and can ersonalize it with widgets, contacts and also required shortcuts.

The 5Mpx Carl Zeiss camera in this handset is one of the best and it automatically show where they were taken. One of the best features of pics and videos searching is that users can add their own description tags so that the required pic or video is easily searched.

The SMS and instant messages are highly organized in the device and users can smoothly switch from one conversation window to another. The built-in 32 GB storage can store up to 7,000 songs or 40 hours of videos. The memory can be expanded up to 48GB with microSD card.
